On June 16 at the Hunt Library Linda Napier of Southbury will share photos and tales of her hike along Scotland’s West Highland Way, which have been compiled in the beautiful photography book, “The Way: The West Highland Way.” Refreshments will be served following the presentation.

What would you do to celebrate your sixtieth year? Soak up the sun in the islands? Join AARP? How about hiking 96 miles through the Highlands of Scotland?

In May of 2011, Linda Napier and her long-time friend Wendy marked their sixtieths by hiking the West Highland Way. Through rain, high winds and hail, the two women learned surprising and profound lessons while trekking the rugged and desolate trail where Rob Roy and other clansman once roamed.

Linda Napier is a registered nurse, former health columnist, photographer, poet and author of the book "Tender Medicine: Touching the Heart, Healing the Hurt." She is presently in graduate school to become a Family Nurse Practitioner.

This presentation is sponsored by Peter Beck's Village Store, Salisbury
